Christian Colligation of Apologetics Debate Research & Evangelism

"And according to Paul's custom, he went to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and giving evidence that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and {saying,} 'This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ.'" -- Acts 17:2-3

Statement of Faith

We believe in one God,
     the Father, the Almighty,
     maker of heaven and earth,
     of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
     the only Son of God,
     eternally begotten of the Father,
     God from God, Light from Light,
     true God from true God,
     begotten, not made,
     of one Being with the Father.
     Through Him all things were made.
     For us and for our salvation
          He came down from heaven:
     by the power of the Holy Spirit
          He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
          and was made man.
     For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
     He suffered death and was buried.
     On the third day He rose again
          in accordance with the Scriptures;
     He ascended into heaven
          and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
     He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
          and His kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
     who proceeds from the Father.*
     With the Father and the Son He is worshiped and glorified.
     He has spoken through the Prophets.
     We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
     We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
     We look for the resurrection of the dead,
          and the life of the world to come. AMEN.

The Christian CADRE is an ecumenical group of apologists who are interested in defending Christianity. We view all people who claim the name of "Christian" as brothers and sisters through the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, provided that they believe in and adhere to the provisions of the Nicene Creed as set forth in the "Statement of Faith." Within the parameters of that Statement, we accept as part of our group conservatives and liberals, and do not differentiate between members on any belief in a particular way to understand certain passages of the Bible. (For example, there is no requirement that a member be a young earth, old earth, evolutionary or other earth type of creationist. While each of the members may feel strongly on the issue as a personal matter, we do not believe that such differences should separate us in doing the work of spreading the good news of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to the entire world.)

To that end, we reject any view on any of the pages linked to this website that suggest or actually pronounce that either Roman Catholicism, Greek Orthodox, or any form of mainstream Protestantism is not Christian. If the person within that faith recognizes the truth of the statements set forth in the Nicene Creed, it is our mutual agreement that such person is Christian.

Further, this website is designed to provide information that may be helpful to apologists who are working to counter skeptics. We are not in control of the content of many of the links, and each author whose articles are posted on the CADRE website is solely responsible for the content of the article. The linking or posting of articles by the CADRE does not necessarily constitute the endorsement of such articles by the CADRE or any of its individual members.
